Wake Up, Little Pin!

03/07/2025

It is almost spring and things are slowly waking up. The Mother Pin Oak tree in this story is ready for spring, but her child, Pin is not! It doesn't want to wake up from its sleep; it is taking its own time.

Title: Wake Up, Little Pin!

Author: Loretta Garbutt

Illustrator: Marianne Ferrer

Publisher: Owlkids

The Mother tree takes the help of the other living things in the forest to awaken the little Pin like the Vole who digs tunnels in turn aerating the soil so that the young saplings get nourishment, the birds fly moving cool air up against the sun to warm it up, and so on. In this way, the Mother tree talks about many happenings around them, in order to wake up the little Pin, just like all mothers do!

Does the little Pin wake up hearing Mother tree's words?

The plants and animals in nature are interdependent and responsive to each other and their needs. They indeed do communicate with each other in ways unknown to us, humans.

📚 Nature and its natural way of existence - depicted beautifully!

📚 Melodiously written text. Impressive illustrations.

📚 Recommended for kids ages 4+

Hope in a Jar

I'm an ardent fan of this 'Jar' series of books, all of which teach vital life lessons in a simple and kid-decipherable way! 'In a Jar', 'Out of a Jar', and now this 'Hope in a Jar'.

We would have never imagined what our house would be thinking when we decorate it with lights and other decor for some celebrations, meanwhile, we don't do it for some other festival or holidays. The main character in this story is the 'House'!
