The Little Library

It is always delightful to see books and stories supporting the concept of Little Free Libraries!

Title: The Little Library (Mr. Tiffin's Classroom Series)

Author: Margaret McNamara

Illustrator: G. Brian Karas

Publisher: Schwartz & Wade

The new school library has opened up and everybody in the school is very excited, except for Jake. He doesn't read books the same way as his classmates and hence, he is not enthusiastic about libraries. He is not a fan of libraries or books for that matter, since he is a cautious reader. Jake sometimes needs to read a page multiple times to understand what it is about. He felt left behind in such scenarios.

On Library Day, Jake was being taught about how to find and check out a book, however, he seemed interested in the shelves of the library and how they were constructed. He was fascinated by a book "Woodworking for Young Hands" and he borrowed that book from the library. As days went by, he worked together with his Grandpa to understand how wooden items were constructed. Eventually, by the end of the year, Jake had checked out this same book multiple times from the library!

Did Jake put the book to good use? Yes, indeed! He built a Little Free Library just outside the Library building so that everyone can get books even when the library building is closed! Whoa! Great project!

📚 This beautiful story emphasizes the importance of books and librarians in encouraging kids to find their love for books and talents. This also helps in developing communities and neighborhoods.

📚 A thoughtful story with colorful illustrations.
