The Glassmaker's Daughter

06/12/2024

This story is set in the 13th century Venice.

Daniela, a glassmaker's daughter was always sad, gloomy, and somber. And she never smiled. Her father promised a beautiful glass palace to anyone who could make her laugh.

People flocked from far and near and tried to entice her happiness, but no matter how talented they were or what tricks they performed, Daniela's frown remained intact. Finally, a young apprentice made a looking glass for Daniela. When she looked at her own grumpy self, she started to smile! Indeed, true joy does not come just like that or through selfish intentions.

📚 Detailed, bright, and colorful illustrations that support the story a great lot.

📚 Fairytale style but based on historical facts (Venice has a real history of the glass-making industry).

📚 Wonderful message at the end - we all have happiness inside of ourselves; we all have the power to change ourselves and our lives!
