Another Berenstain Bears and a beginning reader book!
The bear family adopts a chipmunk who was left stranded by its mother. This book teaches kids to take care of animals instead of being cruel to them. It also tells us that animals need to live free on their own in nature.

This book could be a read-aloud for toddlers. It would be appealing to elementary-aged kids. In my opinion, the words used in this book tend to make it more of a Level 2 Beginning reading book rather than a Level 1.
