Title: Magic Ramen: The Story of Momofuku Ando
Author: Andrea Wang
Illustration: Kana Urbanowicz
Publisher: Little bee books
This is the true story about the inventor of the Ramen noodles. Momofuku Ando lived during the WWII Osaka bombing time. The Japanese economy was giving up but they had to cater to people who couldn't afford to buy food in post-war Japan. He was always sad looking at the long lines of really hungry people waiting for Ramen soup. Every day, he would come back to a little shed in his backyard and dream about making a new kind of ramen noodle soup that was quick, convenient, and tasty for the people. He tried for it for over a year perfecting a ramen recipe.
Amazed at the dedication Ando showed in wanting to bring peace into this world through food because "the world is only peaceful when everyone has enough to eat".
This picture book is a true story of perseverance, determination, and innovation - great qualities to learn for kids. This would be a perfect book for elementary-aged kids - probably ages 5+. It is like a bridge that can fill the gap between fiction and non-fiction.

Halloween is over, but it looks like we're not really done with Halloween books! This is part of a book series that never disappoints the readers.
Of late, I got to read two fascinating non-fiction books, which changed my ideology of the food and grocery industry from the roots up.
