Juniper's beloved father, a refugee from Ghana, died a few years ago, which had been particularly difficult for her. She doesn't feel like celebrating Christmas anymore. Now, unexpectedly, her mom has disappeared and Juniper has been left in the care of a strange homeless lady who lives in the London park.

This is when Juniper gets the help of a friend, Nicholas Claus, who is hiding in the park that her mother manages. Niko now helps homeless residents build homes but he stays away from children. This is how Juniper discovers and gets immersed in Santa and the Christmas magic!

The cover of the book gave me the 'Oh! Cool! That cover is impressive' moment. This book helps restore the magic and spirit of Christmas to the world. It also contains a few black-and-white illustrations which are very much appropriate for the flow of the story. The story focuses a lot on kindness, empathy, family, and relationships.

An awesome middle-grade read for the holidays!
