A different humorous take on "Little Red Riding Hood"!

Title: Federico and the Wolf

Author: Rebecca J. Gomez

Illustrator: Elisa Chavarri

Publisher: Clarion Books

Federico is the little boy with a red hoodie in this story. Federico is assigned the task of visiting the grocery store to pick up the ingredients on his Abuelo's "pico-de-gallo" list. After doing the shopping, Federico walks to meet Abuelo at his store. However, he encounters a hungry wolf on the way, and the wolf decides to ask for something to eat. Federico apologized and walked fastly so that he could reach his Abuelo's store soon.

As in the classic fairytale, the wolf takes the spot of Abuelo and tricks Federico. Did Federico understand this and act accordingly? Or, did the wolf successfully trick Federico? Read on!

Though this book is different from the original story, it still carries on with the same main plot. Additionally, this story brought in the cultural element in it with the Spanish words that intertwine so well with the English words.

📚 Perfect retelling for fairytale fans.

📚 Gorgeous colorful illustrations. Rhyming text with intermittent Spanish words.

📚 Recommended for kids ages 4+
