This is a story of a girl and her grandmother, living on an island, collecting food from the nature surrounding them. They collect salmon from the stream, herring eggs from the ocean, and berries (so many different ones!) from the forest. Their hearts rejoice in happiness and gratitude for nature's valuable gifts.

This book is an excellent read/read-aloud for kids of any age. In my opinion, even adults would be enthralled by the gorgeous pictures in this book.
