Ally is an alligator and Beak is a bird. Ally is an introvert and likes to live alone in the swamp. However, when Beak moves into the neighborhood, everything changes.

Beak wants to be friends with Ally, however, Ally is not at all interested in this. Beak thinks of himself as "born to sing" and he enjoys making new friends. Beak puts in a lot of tries to get Ally's attention, but Ally always ignores Beak.
Soon, Ally receives an invitation to a nest-warming party and thinks that he will attend the party for just 10 minutes. But, on his way, he discovers a sad Beak, who informs Ally that the party has been canceled because the nest has been taken over by a "Party Pooper" grey bird!
Surprise! Surprise! Ally decides to stand up for Beak! Ally reclaims the nest from the bullying grey bird for Beak, who he calls his friend now!!! Beak's happiness knew no bounds!!!

I did feel that the personal boundaries were not taken care of since ideally, we should not try to befriend a person by forcefully intruding into their boundaries without their permission. However, in a fun and relaxed way, this is a great beginner chapter book for early readers.
