Going Up - Baloney and Friends #2

The second book in the series Baloney and Friends with the characters Baloney the Pig, Peanut the Horse, Bizz the Bumblebee, and Krabbit the Rabbit. They are the perfect combination of silly and adorable.

This book is somewhere in between the Elephant and Piggie and Narwhal and Jelly series books. This book starts with an introductory story in which they compose a theme song for their group. Then there is a story where Baloney's third sneeze disappears! There are a few single-page stories and finally a contemplative story appreciating all that helped two friends stay under a big tree together. The book ends with a drawing lesson at the end which is to draw the characters in this book with emotions like happy, sad, angry, worried, and suspicious. Excellent idea for little kids to get involved in this story!

A quick sneak peek into the book's characters:-
Peanut is worried that he slept through too much of the book. Peanut asks, "So what should we do next?" Baloney replies, "I know! Let's read it again!"

This beginning reader graphic novel has 4 colorful characters who are all simple and silly. The mix of short stories and mini-comics is sure to encourage reluctant readers. In my opinion, this book would be a good fit for upper-level elementary kids. It could also be a read-aloud to smaller kids.
