Leif and the Fall
This is very true - even discarded ideas can build the basis for great things in life!
A wonderful story! This is the first book in this series and wow! what a start to this chapter book series! The entire story has been set in Africa.
Anna Hibiscus is a determined, adventurous, respectful, caring, delightful little girl! Anna is a little girl who lives surrounded by her extended family in a single home. Anna's mother is originally from Canada, but she fits right in with everyone in the family. Sometimes she has to watch her twin baby brothers Double and Trouble too. The story begins with a vacation, that Anna, her baby brothers, and her parents are going to. When they arrive at their vacation house it becomes quite clear why it might be better to have their extended family around because they would help cook, clean, and care for the babies. So Anna's father returns with a set of family members daily and ultimately brings everyone along on vacation.
🌺 The writing is simple, with repeating phrases and words great for beginning readers.
🌺 The chapters are each stand-alone stories rather than continuations and each story focuses on Anna learning about the value of generosity, family, and hard work.
🌺 This story also tackles social issues - Anna's family is rich whereas, right outside their home, young girls sell oranges on the hot streets. This makes Anna more and more grateful for the life she has been bestowed with.
🌺 In my opinion, this chapter book series would be suitable for kids 8+ considering the length of the chapters.
🌺 This series is much easier than "Clementine" but a little bit higher level than "Magic Treehouse" books.

Halloween is over, but it looks like we're not really done with Halloween books! This is part of a book series that never disappoints the readers.
Of late, I got to read two fascinating non-fiction books, which changed my ideology of the food and grocery industry from the roots up.
