Leif and the Fall
This is very true - even discarded ideas can build the basis for great things in life!
A happy and sweet story of a young girl and her family who celebrate Ramadan with their community.
Aliya knows that the new moon marks the start of Ramadan. Her mom and dad have started their preparations for the big festival already. They have started their month-long fasting, however, Aliya also wants to join them. Her mom feels that Aliya might be too little for fasting, but Aliya is really determined and she decides in her mind that she would do fasting and keep it a secret in her heart.
Even being at school doesn't stop Aliya from fasting; her stomach grumbles, but still, she turns down her snack, lunch, and even the delicious cupcakes the class eats for a kid's birthday! When she reaches back home, she is unable to withstand the sweet baklava made by her mom. Immediately, she feels guilty for breaking the fast and feels disappointed in herself. Her mom consoles her telling her that there are many ways of celebrating Ramadan besides fasting, like being kind to others. This cheers up Aliya and together the family celebrates Ramadan happily by delivering meals for people in need.
🌙 Rich colorful illustrations complete the happiness of the festival of Ramadan.
🌙 Even if readers are unfamiliar with this festival, this book gives a good enough idea to a certain extent.
🌙 This story teaches each one of us to be kind and considerate to others not only on festival days but always.
🌙 This would be a perfect read for elementary kids.

Of late, I got to read two fascinating non-fiction books, which changed my ideology of the food and grocery industry from the roots up.
